A major asset of this club is the trailer, used for transporting the equipment needed to run races. The trailer was starting to show a bit of wear and tear so the commitee decided that it was due for a refurbishment. This was at the same time that the Greyhounds Club in Sale announced that it would be seeking applications from community organisations for grants. A quote was attained for sandblasting and re-spraying the trailer and submitted with an application for a grant, which was successful. The club is very grateful for the grant provided by the Greyhounds Club in Sale, who also provide us with a venue for our monthly meetings.
With the proceeds of the grant the quoted works were carried out by Gippsland Sodablast and Maffra Auto and Steel, resulting in a freshly painted and serviced trailer. It was however a “clean skin” with none of the sponsors logos that the trailer had before. As these logos had been in place for a number of years, several local businesses affiliated with club members and supporters were approached to see if they were interested in advertising on the trailer. A number very generously agreed, which as well as covering the cost of the sign writing has provided additional funds for the running of the club.
